Intra-Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI)

  The procedure for ICSI is similar to that for IVF, but instead of fertilisation taking place in a dish, the embryologist selects the morphologically normal sperm from the sample and a single sperm is injected directly into each egg. The fertilized egg is then implanted into the woman's womb.

  ICSI is performed for couples who are dealing with severe male factor infertility and for those who have had repeated IVF failures in the past.
